OpenAI raises $6.6 billion at $157 billion valuation

OpenAI announced it had closed a $6.6 billion funding round at a $157 billion post-money valuation, among the largest private financings ever at the time. The round was led by Thrive Capital with participation from Microsoft, NVIDIA, SoftBank, and others. OpenAI said the funds would go toward frontier AI research and expanding compute capacity.
