In an organizational update, OpenAI announced that Dario Amodei, VP of Research, was leaving after nearly five years with the company. Amodei had contributed to building GPT-2 and GPT-3 and co-led the direction of OpenAI's research alongside Ilya Sutskever. The announcement said Amodei and a handful of colleagues were planning a new project expected to focus less on product development and more on research. In the same update, Mira Murati was named senior vice president of Research, Product, and Partnerships.
